Creative Inspiration for the day: Dsenyo

We want to introduce you to Marissa Perry Saints.  She is a true example of what this blog is about!
Marissa Perry Saints founded Dsenyo in 2007 after living and working in Malawi, southern Africa. Dsenyo is an ethical fashion company committed to offering sustainable accessories, featuring the art of African textile design for fashion and socially conscious women.
Dsenyo is the result of taking that African inspiration and combining it with Marissa's experience in fine arts, graphic design and international development.
Dsenyo creates products that provide stable employment for marginalized women in Africa and eco-chic accessories for women in the US and Europe.
Currently, Marissa is the owner, and designer for the Dsenyo label. She hires help here in the Colorado to hand-craft our accessories. At the same time, Dsenyo partners with Sambah Naturals (www.sambahnaturals.com) to train women in Zambia. Dsenyo will pay them a Fair Trade wage to produce textiles and accessories for us.

Look at their amazing bags. What a distinctive gift this would be!
